Regular - more than 6 months

Time Required

Saturdays 9:30am - 12:30pm and/or 11.45am - 2.30pm

Training

Initial induction will be with our President and Coordinator.Training will be on the job under the guidance of our Coordinator.

Minimum time commitment: Three to six months

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of The Kew Toy Library.

Are you a super hero that would be able to save kids from boredom and parents from tantrums? Join a tight-knit community of volunteers and members who are committed to improving the Kew Toy Library as a Toy Library Assistant.

Tasks and Responsibilities: The super hero will assist the Coordinator by:

  • Loaning toys to members via our database
  • Answering the phone

Other tasks that can be done when quiet are:

  • Reuniting missing parts
  • Assisting members with finding toys
  • Helping members take toys out to their cars when needed
  • Scanning and laminating instruction sheets
  • Tidying the shelves
  • Cataloguing new toys

Skills and Experience: This super hero must:

  • Be friendly and helpful to our member families
  • Have super communication skills
  • Be computer literate
  • Ability to pay attention to detail - they can even be super tidy.
