AUSLAN interpreter

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Multicultural Association of Russian Speaking Women - Ogonyok.
As a volunteer AUSLAN interpreter, you will play an important role in supporting clear and inclusive communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing clients and our team. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing accurate AUSLAN interpretation during meetings, activities, or appointments.
- Supporting clients to fully participate in conversations and community programs.
- Working alongside staff to ensure information is delivered in a respectful and accessible way.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Assisting with both one-on-one and small group interactions.
Key skills: - Working proficiency in AUSLAN. Perfection is not required, would love someone to give it their best crack!
- Location: South Melbourne, South Yarra, and St Kilda
- Commitment: Up to 2 hours per week (in person)
- Clients: Adults
- Support: You will always be accompanied by a team member
- Requirements: No Russian language skills required
