Commitment

Regular - more than 6 months

Time required

We are open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. A volunteer slot is either 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm. Some volunteers do two slots a month. Some do two full days a week. The rest are somewhere in between. We aim to fit new volunteers onto days where we have the most space. Most volunteers like to agree a regular pattern so that they can easily fit it around the rest of their activities.

Training

We provide training in managing the till and taking sales, safety at work, and receiving donations. Some volunteers also learn to sort and price items. All volunteers must take some simple training called "Safe Ministry" which is an Anglican church training program aimed at making sure the workplace is safe for us all, but especially any vulnerable people. It is also appropriate for the shop setting.
