Time required

1–2 hours per week, plus a 1-hour online monthly committee meeting (2nd Tuesday, 8:00-9:00 PM).

Training

A full handover will be provided by the current Treasurer and committee.You will receive guided walkthroughs and support for our systems, including Xero, SETLS (toy library management software) and online banking.There is limited ongoing support from the current Treasurer and guidance from the committee will be available throughout your transition.

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of Pied Piper Toy Library.

As Treasurer, your main role is to keep accurate financial records and help ensure the toy library stays financially healthy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Records: Keep financial records up to date; present monthly reports at Committee meetings; prepare annual budgets; manage supplier payments and volunteer reimbursements; manage bank accounts, payment gateways, and grant funding.

  • Operations: Serve as one of two bank signatories; oversee WorkCover and insurance; assist with finances at library events as needed.

  • Payroll & Compliance: Pay fortnightly wages for paid Co-ordinators (including tax filings); lodge quarterly PAYG, Superannuation, and Portable Long Service Leave; process annual employment tax filings; manage new or departing employee setups and annual wage updates.

Requirements:

  • Basic bookkeeping or accounting knowledge.
  • Computer and internet access to use online banking, Xero, and toy library software (SETLS).
  • Trustworthy, organized, and able to meet regular deadlines.

Time & Meetings:

  • Monthly online committee meeting (2nd Tuesday, 8:00-9:00 PM).
  • Around 1-2 flexible hours per week.
