The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Inclusion Melbourne.

Leisure Buddy Volunteers meet their buddies on a fortnightly basis for one to two hours for social outings.

Our volunteers are caring, kind and thoughtful and have a genuine interest in developing a friendship with a person with a disability. They are committed to making a difference and ensuring people with a disability feel connected to our community.

We are currently seeking Leisure Buddy Volunteers in the Melbourne area.

  • Build a supportive, one-on-one friendship with a person with cognitive disability
  • Participate in shared leisure activities based on the participant’s interests (e.g. walking, coffee, art, sport, community events)
  • Support social connection, confidence, and community participation
  • Meet regularly with the participant at agreed times and locations
  • Communicate with the Community Support Coordinator regarding visits and any concerns
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and follow Inclusion Melbourne policies and procedures
  • Complete basic activity reporting as required

Inclusion Melbourne is a quality certified organisation therefore all volunteers attend Induction Training at our Head office in Camberwell, Victoria and complete an online National Disability Insurance Scheme Module.
