This role can be undertaken between 9am - 2.30pm on any week day that suits. It probably needs 2-3 hours per week. It is however pretty flexible.

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of Ashburton Community Centre.

We are seeking a volunteer who is passionate about all things environmental and is also creative and practical to manager our Centre's Eco Hub.

The Eco Hub has a range of recycling opportunities available to the community and is aimed to:

  • Promote sustainability and recycling
  • Connect people together over sustainability
  • Provide a convenient “one-stop-shop” for local community to recycle and donate a range of items
  • Attract people into the Centre

The Coordinator will work alongside with our Green Deck Coordinator - who manages our Green Deck and coordinates seedlings for sale, our coffee recycling program and manages the green deck.

The Coordinator will:

  • ensure donated items are recycled correctly
  • work with the office staff around promoting the Eco Hub
  • Develop partnerhips with recycling points
  • implement activities to increase recycling within the Community
  • liaise with the Office team about activities and parnerships.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Interest and knowledge of recycling opportunities
  • Warm friendly manner – happy to talk with people
  • A “can do” approach
  • Creative and practical

Induction/orientation will be provided.
