The classes run once a month in Camberwell for two hours (10.30am - 12.30pm) Volunteers are expected to attend most of the classes throughout the year.

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of The City of Boroondara - Active Ageing, Social Support Team.

The Active Ageing, Social Support team runs an iPad Club to support digital literacy in Boroondara.

Program Details:

  • iPad Club (ongoing monthly iPad support sessions)
  • Held at Camberwell Library 1st Thursday of the month from 10.30am - 12.30pm
  • Your role will be to assist and compliment the instructor
  • The option to lead classes where required is available

Volunteers are required to:

  • Have sufficient knowledge of the Apple iPad or Samsung tablets and how to navigate them and their basic features.
  • Have clear communication skills and be able to patiently translate technical knowledge into simple language that non-technical people can understand.
  • Stay for the duration of the class to teach, monitor the room and assist where required, particularly to assist with questions and practice.
  • If taking the class, may be asked to assist with the preparation of class notes.

Support and reporting relationships:

Induction will be provided by the Social Support Officers, Active Ageing, at the Council offices in Camberwell.

Volunteer activity will be overseen by the Social Support Officer.
