The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of BaptistCare.
Our lively Lifestyle Team at Hedley Sutton Aged Care Community in Camberwell is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help our residents have an amazing time. As a BaptistCare volunteer, you’ll be inducted into a fun, fulfilling experience where you can make a real difference!
You’ll get to assist with a variety of exciting activities, including:
- Companion chatting (become a friendly face and a listening ear)
- Current Affairs (Tuesday's 10am to 11am)
- Bingo (Wednesday's 10am to 12.00noon)
Wednesday's 1.30pm to 3.00pm:
- Games and puzzles - crosswords, word search, to name a few!
- Colouring
- Music Sessions (from music to performances to singalong's!)
- Reminiscing sessions (sharing stories and memories)
- Arts and crafts... the list is endless!
We love to match volunteers with activities based on your passions and hobbies, so you’ll always feel engaged and excited!

Availability
We’re looking for volunteers who can donate their time weekly on Tuesday's 10am to 11am for Current Affairs session, &/or Wednesdays between 10.00am to 12.00noon to support with Bingo and 1.30pm to 3.00pm to support with Games, Word Search, Music Sessions and Reminiscing activities.
Is This You?
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, students, retirees, part-time workers, stay-at-home parents, and professionals. To be considered for this role, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:
- You don’t need special skills, just a warm heart and the desire to make a difference
- Willingness to undergo or provide a National Criminal History Check
- Provide two referees who can speak to your character
- Be reliable, compassionate, and enjoy spending time with elderly people
- Commitment to regular volunteering
