Volunteer Opportunity: Exercise Assistant

Location: Faversham House, Canterbury

Day & Time: Tuesdays, 10:20am – 11:50am (weekly)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and physically fit Exercise Assistant Volunteer to support our residents during a fun and engaging exercise session at Faversham House.

About the Role:

  • Move through the residential care building to invite interested residents to attend the exercise session
  • Remind and escort residents to the exercise room, including pushing wheelchairs where required
  • Assist the facilitator during a 1-hour exercise program involving standing and seated exercises
  • Demonstrate exercises and support residents with movements throughout the session
  • Help ensure the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of residents at all times

What We’re Looking For:

  • Physically fit and comfortable with standing, moving, and assisting residents
  • Friendly, patient, and encouraging manner
  • Able to work respectfully with older adults in a residential care environment
  • Reliable and available on a weekly basis
