An initial meeting with the Kew Toy Library. Most work can be done from home, but it will depend on the type of fundraising activities that are organized.

Training

Induction will be done via meetings with the President of the Kew Toy Library, co-ordinator and other members of the management committee.

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Kew Toy Library.

Overview

The purpose of this position is to oversee all grant / grant sourcing activities at Kew Toy Library (KTL), in order to raise additional funds required for the operational management, and special projects of KTL. 

  Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all KTL grant activities
  • Regularly liaise with Coordinator & President on grant direction, research and planning
  • Prepare grant submissions and lodge prior to the due date
  • Ensure that grant reporting requirements and timelines are met (post grant)
  • Act as the key KTL contact for all grant enquiries
  • Actively seek new and novel grant ideas for KTL
  • Provide guidance and advice to KTL Management Committee Members on grant matters
  • Ensure all grant information is documented and filed appropriately
  • Report on the status of grant projects to KTL Management Committee
  • Report on the annual status of grant projects to KTL Members at Annual General Meeting
  • Actively promote KTL in the community

Skills and Experience

It would be great if you had fundraising experience already, but the most important things are:

  • enthusiasm and dedication
  • ability to work autonomously and to a timeline

In order to take advantage of the above benefits, the Grants Officer is required to:

  • Pay membership dues on time each year
  • Attendance at a minimum of 4 KTL Management Committee meetings in a year
  • Undertake tasks in your own time associated with KTL Committee Position description
  • Adhere to OH&S policy, procedures and systems relating to health & safety

To undertake the role, the Grants Officer is required to:

  • Obtain Working with Children Accreditation
  • Sign and comply with:
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Helmet Waiver
    • Child Safety Code of Conduct
