Time required

A two-hour shift at any time between 12noon and 10pm on Saturday 28th of February 2026. Volunteers also need to attend a 1 hour briefing in the early evening on Thursday, 26th February 2026. This session can be attended via Zoom.

Training

A one hour briefing ain the early evening on Thursday 20th February at Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre, 157 Union Road, Surrey Hills. This can be attended via Zoom.Plus support on the day

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre.

Join us and be part of the much-loved Surrey Hills Music Festival on Saturday 28th February 2026.   Sign up for a two-hour shift any time that suits you between 12 noon and 10pm, in the BBQ or café, on the bar (must have an RSA), as a venue coordinator at one of our three venues or as a meet and greet roving festival ambassador.

A volunteer briefing will be held at the Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre on Thursday 26th February in the early evening. Volunteers will need to attend this one-hour session.

Roles & Responsibilities

BBQ Assistant: Work as part of a team that takes payment, cooks sausages on the BBQ and serves them to the public.

Cafe Assistant: Work as part of a team that takes payment, prepares simple cafe style food and serves it to the public. Clear tables and stack dishwasher. Holding 'Do Food Safely' certificate is desirable.

Bar Assistant: Volunteers must have an RSA. Take payment and serve a limited range of alcoholic beverages to the public.

Venue Coordinator: Be the point of contact for one of our three venues. Offer directions to performers and patrons, liaise with band leaders, troubleshoot and assist performers with time keeping.

Roving Festival Ambassador: Greet and welcome patrons, distribute programs, answer questions and provide information.
