The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of Multicap.

We're looking for a kind, reliable volunteer to be a mentor and companion for a teenage boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who loves cars, tech, gaming and animals. This is a chance to build a genuine connection, share interests, and be a positive role model - while relieving some pressure off Mum.

What you'll do -

  • Spend a few relaxed hours once a month hanging out together
  • Enjoy shared activities like checking out cars, going to a gaming convention, or visiting animals
  • Offer encouragement, conversation, and a supportive presence

Why it matters - Your time helps this young person feel seen, valued and will build confidence - while easing the load for his mum. Small moments can have a big, lasting impact.

Who we're looking for -

  • Friendly, patient, and dependable
  • Comfortable engaging with teens and their interests
  • Happy to commit to a low-pressure, meaningful monthly catch-up

If you enjoy connecting over hobbies and want to make a positive difference in a young person’s life, this role offers purpose, connection, and the reward of knowing your time truly matters.
