The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this position on behalf of Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and working with the Communications team members to develop and execute the MIE Communications Plan
- Leading (chairing) fortnightly Communications Team meetings
- Managing the Communications Planner, including creation of communication tasks, scheduling and assignment.
- Coordinating/project managing communication and content tasks, as required to support the overall team.
- Assisting with the creation and review of content, when required.
- Completing monthly reporting to the MIE Committee
- Attending monthly MIE Committee meetings (first Tuesday of each month)
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary level qualification in Marketing & Communications, Business Administration, Project Management or Change Management (or enrolled at TAFE or university and completing your diploma or degree)
- Excellent written, online and verbal communication skills
- Experience &/or exposure to digital marketing
- Strong skills and experience with a range of software, booking and graphic design platforms (including Microsoft - e.g. Office, Teams, Planner etc.; design apps - e.g. Canva; digital marketing platforms such as MailChimp; booking platforms like Humanitix, TryBooking etc.)
- Highly organised and reliable
- Able to work independently and show initiative
- Must have own computer
- Will work flexible hours from home

Note: Role can be primarily delivered remotely. Would possibly best suit someone in the Eastern/SE suburbs of Melbourne for in-person interaction, visiting events, meetings etc., when needed.
