The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of BASSCARE.

Would you enjoy supporting older residents to take part in creative, social activities? We’re seeking a Craft Group Assistant to support residents during a weekly craft group at Faversham House.

Location: Faversham House Day/Time: Weekly – Tuesday afternoons

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Invite and escort residents from their rooms to the activity space, using wheelchairs if required
  • Provide friendly interaction and encouragement to residents, including those with sensory or communication difficulties
  • Assist higher‑needs residents to participate in simple craft activities
  • Support the craft instructor, who plans and leads the session
  • Encourage engagement, inclusion, and enjoyment throughout the activity
  • Escort residents safely back to their rooms at the end of the session

You’ll always be supported by staff and the activity instructor — you won’t be working alone.
