The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of The Boroondara Stroke Support Group Inc. (BSSG).

The Boroondara Stroke Support Group (BSSG) was started by a stroke survivor over 20 years ago to support other stroke survivors and their carers in rebuilding their post-stroke lives. The group runs a variety of activities to provide social support to its members.We are a fun and caring team, supported by a part-time Hub Administrator. Our aim is to support stroke survivors in rebuilding their post stroke lives.  We would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Event Planning Assistant to work closely with our Event Coordinator in the planning and implementation of two high-profile concerts taking place in August in Boroondara. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with prior experience in event planning or event coordination, ideally within large-scale or public-facing events. The successful candidate will contribute to multiple aspects of event delivery, including logistics coordination, stakeholder communication, scheduling support, vendor liaison, and on-site event assistance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of all event logistics for two concerts
  • Supporting communication with artists, suppliers, venues, and other stakeholders
  • Helping develop and maintain event timelines, run sheets, and operational plans
  • Coordinating with the Event Coordinator to ensure compliance with all event requirements
  • Assisting with risk management, permits, and operational documentation
  • Providing on-the-day support, including setup, execution, and pack-down
  • Troubleshooting operational issues during event delivery

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility, initiative, and attention to detail are essential, as well as a collaborative approach to supporting a larger event team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of two significant cultural events within the Boroondara community.
