Training

You will be provided with a full orientation of the commercial kitchen and a detailed list of your duties. In this role you will work alongside the Meals and Kitchen Coordinator and be guided by her as to the week's requirements.

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of Balwyn Evergreen Centre.

Balwyn Evergreen is looking for a kitchen hand / organiser to assist with keeping our commercial kitchen orderly and clean. You will work with our Meals and Kitchen Coordinator performing the following duties:

  • Labelling and sorting of kitchenware
  • Tidying up storage room, fridges and freezers
  • Sorting and rotation of refrigerated and frozen foods
  • Cleaning of kitchen when required, although this is generally done by cooks and kitchen assistants
  • Ad hoc kitchen jobs as directed by Coordinator

Available shift:

  • Tuesday - 12pm-2pm

This is a varied role that will require you to be flexible as each day will differ depending on what is required.
