Make a genuine difference - become a Leisure Buddy!
We have a gentleman in his late 60s with dementia who's looking to make a friend to spend time together and do fun activities.
He is friendly, sociable and enjoys chatting and connecting with others. He loves music, being in nature and going for walks, bike riding. He is very well-travelled, spiritual and has lived an alternative life.
Do you have a spare hour a fortnight to spend time and connect with this kind and interesting gentlemen? This volunteer role is flexible, with full training and ongoing support provided. We ask for a commitment of at least 6 months, for around 1–2 hours every fortnight.
Your impact:
Volunteering as Leisure Buddy is a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. You will help older people feel less isolated and improve their quality of life. Your visits will bring great joy and happiness to the person you are matched with.
