About Collective Power

Collective Power Boroondara (CPB) is a member-owned cooperative serving households across Boroondara. We help people lower their energy costs, build confidence navigating a complex market, and find greener options that actually work for their household. We're operational, with a founding volunteer team already in training and about to launch.

The role

The Volunteers Lead is the person who makes volunteering at CPB work well. This is hands-on, relational work; recruiting and onboarding new volunteers, matching people to roles, supporting them through their training pathway, and making sure no one falls through the cracks. You'll work closely with Robert Stewart (Chair) and alongside our founding beta tester group, who are active, engaged, and ready to help you hit the ground running. The program is already shaped. What it needs now is someone to grow it.

What you bring

  • People skills that build trust quickly across different ages, backgrounds, and levels of technical confidence
  • Genuine comfort with digital tools — we use a variety of digital and online tools; IT literacy is essential.
  • The ability to hold multiple moving parts without losing track of what matters most
  • Interest in community energy, cooperative economics, or the idea that neighbours can help each other navigate complex systems

What success looks like

In the first six months, you'll have a growing volunteer pool with clear profiles; an onboarding process volunteers describe as welcoming and well-organised; and volunteer effort consistently going where CPB needs it most. You'll know it's working when volunteers feel accompanied, not just assigned.

How to apply

Express interest and we will contact you. You will be asked to provide two or three paragraphs to tell us what draws you to CPB, something relevant about your experience and any questions you have.
