BASSCARE is seeking a friendly, caring, and enthusiastic volunteer to support clients attending our Dementia Day Service. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, working as part of a team, and creating a welcoming environment for others.
About the Role As a Dementia Day Service Volunteer, you will assist our team during morning tea and lunchtime activities, helping to create a positive and social dining experience for clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up tables for morning tea and lunch
- Assisting with serving meals and refreshments
- Sharing conversation and companionship with clients
- Encouraging a warm and inclusive atmosphere
- Helping with clearing and cleaning up after meals
- Supporting staff with general mealtime activities as required
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Interacts warmly, patiently, and respectfully with clients
- Enjoys meeting and connecting with older people
- Works well as part of a team
- Can show initiative and work independently when required
- Is reliable, organised, and willing to help where needed
- Enjoys creating a welcoming and social mealtime experience
