The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is promoting this opportunity on behalf of St Mary's House of Welcome.
St Mary's House of Welcome is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Communications and Design Volunteer to support its fundraising team in sharing the organisation's work with the wider community. Working alongside staff, you will help create engaging content and promotional materials that raise awareness, support fundraising activities and showcase the impact of St Mary's programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create materials for fundraising and community engagement campaigns
- Assist with the preparation of social media content
- Refresh and update fundraising resources and documents
- Support website content updates
- Contribute to photography and short-form video content (depending on skills and interests)
- Help communicate the impact of St Mary's House of Welcome to supporters and the broader community
Skills and Experience:
The ideal volunteer will:
- Have a strong interest in communications, marketing, graphic design or digital media
- Be confident using Canva or similar design software
- Be familiar with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
- Have strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Be able to take direction and work collaboratively
- Experience with Squarespace is desirable but not essential
This opportunity would suit a communications or design student, recent graduate, or someone seeking to build their portfolio and gain hands-on experience in the not-for-profit sector.
