Commitment

Regular - more than 6 months

Time required

Seasonal commitment, approximately 1.5 hours per week during the cricket season (Monday evenings, 5:30pm-7:00pm). Volunteers are encouraged to attend regularly to help build relationships with athletes, however flexibility can be discussed based on individual availability.

Training

An online induction to Special Olympics and onboarding with MIE will be provided.

Reimbursement

We will reimburse fees for first aid or CPR training and certification.

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this position on behalf of Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East.

LOCATION  Our Cricket Program is conducted in partnership with Edinburgh Cricket Club (ECC) at Brunswick Street Oval, Edinburgh Gardens, Fitzroy North. Training sessions are held on Monday evenings from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

ABOUT THE ROLE   Melbourne Inner East is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support our inclusive cricket program for athletes with intellectual disability and autism.

As a Cricket Program Volunteer, you'll play an important role in helping athletes develop cricket skills, build confidence, stay active and enjoy being part of a team in a fun and supportive environment. No cricket experience is necessary. We welcome volunteers who enjoy working with people and want to make a positive impact in their community.
