The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of the Boroondara Family Network.
Purpose
To secure and grow BFN’s funding base, with sponsorship as the primary focus, supported by fundraising events, grants and longer-term funding partnership — so the organisation reduces its reliance on a narrow donor base and becomes financially sustainable.
Key responsibilities
- Lead BFN’s sponsorship strategy (primary focus) — identify, approach, secure and retain corporate and community sponsors and develop sponsorship packages and proposals.
- Build and steward long-term funding partnership, including existing relationships with Glenferrie Rotary, Bendigo Bank Inner Eastern, local businesses and service clubs.
- Plan and run fundraising events (e.g. the Bunnings BBQ, community and donor events) to complement sponsorship income.
- Drive the grants pipeline — identify opportunities, write and submit applications with Committee approval, and manage acquittals, with financial support from the Treasurer.
- Strengthen BFN’s visibility and marketing where it supports sponsorship and fundraising — website, social media and donor communications.
- Track income against targets and report progress to the Committee.

- Operate within Victorian fundraising regulation (Fundraising Act 1998 (Vic) / Consumer Affairs Victoria) and BFN’s privacy obligations.
- Refer prospective sponsors to the Committee for suitability sign-off before agreements are made, to protect BFN’s reputation and brand.

- Activities undertaken on BFN’s behalf are covered by the Association’s volunteer and public liability insurance.
