The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of the Hawthorn Historical Society.
We are an active community organisation researching, preserving and sharing Hawthorn's history through walks, talks, publications, exhibitions and heritage activities.
As Secretary, you will help us maintain good governance and ensure our formal records and decisions are properly documented. Working with the President, you will assist with meeting agendas, minutes, governance records and the Annual General Meeting.
This is a defined governance position, not a general administration role.
The Committee holds just five formal meetings each year, with some preparation, follow-up and additional work around the AGM. Much of the work can be undertaken from home.
We would particularly welcome someone with experience in executive support, governance, legal or compliance work, public administration or the not-for-profit sector.
You don't need to be a historian. Good judgement, clear writing, reliability and organisational skills matter most. A current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
In return, you will join a welcoming group of people, have opportunities to participate in the Society's activities and make a meaningful contribution to Hawthorn's heritage.
Please complete the online Expression of Interest and email a short CV or summary of your experience if you are interested.
