The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Rotary Club of Kew, Fair Trade & Gift Shop.

The Fair Trade & Gift Shop has a small garden patch where we grow vegies for the less fortunate members of our community. We need a group or single volunteers to help maintain this on a weekly basis. Garden Gurus & Gardening Assistants needed.

No qualifications necessary, although experience and a love for the garden is highly desirable. This role involves looking after our veggie garden, located at the back of our shop.

You will need to be physically active and be able to work in a small team. Bring all your friends and enjoy working outside, many hands make light work!

Duties may include:

  • Watering
  • Weeding
  • Planting and potting
  • Picking and harvesting
  • Digging
  • Deadheading
  • Bins
  • Yard maintenance
  • Garden maintenance

Skills and qualities required:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Reliability as a team member
  • Be able to understand and follow directions or be able to direct the group.

You will need to provide your own equipment and enthusiasm!
