Make a difference through connection. Join our Champions for Seniors program as a volunteer Manningham Elder Abuse Community Champion (MEACC). You’ll be trained and supported to build a positive connection with an older person, helping them feel heard, valued and less socially isolated. No previous experience is needed.
The Boroondara Family Network
The Boroondara Family Network supports families living in the City of Boroondara with children under the age of six. The volunteer visits the parents home to provide parenting support for the families. The volunteer provides practical help (holding/playing with the baby), friendly support and encouragement in a non judgemental manner. The volunteers are available to engage in adult conversation and be a listening ear. They may assist families to access other community services where appropriate
BASSCARE
Join our Tuesday Movie program and help create a warm, enjoyable afternoon for clients. Set up the room, assist clients from lunch to movie tables, start the film, offer support during the session, serve ice cream, and help pack up afterwards. A friendly, rewarding way to brighten someone’s day each week.
Boroondara Stroke Support Group Inc
Help us improve the lives of people affected by stroke in the community. We are looking for a cooking instructor to run cooking sessions at our Hub. Sessions will most likely be run once a month on a Thursday afternoon.

The support provided by volunteers in this position assists Alamein to provide a friendly welcome to all visitors and attendees at the centre. The role is to greet visitors entering the centre, direct them to the correct room or staff member, make a tea or coffee for them and ensure the common area is a welcoming place.
