The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Empowering Community Growth Ltd (ECG).

About the Role   

        

  • Identifying appropriate grant opportunities for ECG
  • Developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organisations
  • Assembling and submitting grant requests
  • Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers
  • Maintaining a calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports
  • Prioritising projects to keep multiple projects moving promptly and meet deadlines
  • Keep donor information up to date  
  • Send DGR receipts and send thank-you notes
  • Help write and manage grant applications
  • Build strong relationships with supporters and donors
  • Work closely with a dedicated and friendly team

About You

  • Detail-oriented and reliable
  • Able to manage several tasks and meet deadlines
  • Passionate about making a difference in developing communities
  • Positive attitude and great with people
  • Previous experience and knowledge of the fundraising and grant writing process
  • Ability to establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with contacts and program officers
  • Excellent and persuasive written communication skills with the ability to accept a brief and produce inspirational effective submissions
  • Ability to research prospects
  • Knowledge of supporter relationship management
  • An understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants
  • Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills.

The ideal candidate is a committed individual who embraces our mission and values. They will work closely with the Directors to maximize the financial sustainability of ECG.

Time required: Approx 8 hrs/week
