The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Melbourne Polytechnic.

Melbourne Polytechnic is recruiting volunteer tutors for the Melbourne Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) Volunteer Tutor Scheme (VTS).

You will need to be a resident of Victoria and aged 18 or over to express interest in this role.

The Melbourne AMEP covers the following regions North West, North East, South East, Inner metropolitan Melbourne and regional Bendigo.

Volunteering as a tutor gives you the opportunity to:

  • help refugees and migrants learn English and become part of the Australian community
  • meet people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • develop new skills
  • learn about other languages and cultures
  • become part of a dynamic and committed volunteer team

One to one tutoring takes place via digital and mobile phone platforms such as Zoom, FaceTime and WhatsApp Video calls or face to face in a public setting.

No previous experience in teaching is required - training is provided.
