About the Role:

Are you passionate about creating calm, welcoming spaces where adults can relax, reflect, and reconnect? The Craig Family Centre is seeking volunteer facilitators to lead gentle wellbeing workshops for adults in our local community. These sessions are designed to support emotional wellness, reduce stress, and foster social connection through mindful, low-impact activities. From chair yoga and breathwork to guided journaling, sensory-friendly experiences, or even laughter therapy—we welcome your ideas and presence. This is your chance to:

  • Help others develop simple tools for self-care and stress relief
  • Foster a sense of connection and belonging among participants
  • Lead a group in a way that’s inclusive, gentle, and low-pressure

We are open to one-off sessions or ongoing series depending on your availability and interest.

What the Sessions Could Include:

  • Chair yoga or stretching circles
  • Mindfulness meditation and breathwork
  • Journaling sessions with calming prompts and tea
  • Joy walks or guided group movement
  • Sensory-friendly spaces for neurodiverse adults

We’re flexible and happy to support your vision—whether you're a certified practitioner, student, or just someone with a passion for wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead a simple, wellbeing-focused session (or series)
  • Help set up a calm, welcoming environment (materials provided)
  • Guide a small group of adult participants in a supportive, inclusive way
  • Communicate with staff to coordinate setup and session flow
  • Encourage gentle engagement and create space for reflection

Skills & Experience (desirable but not essential):

  • Interest in mindfulness, mental health, or wellbeing
  • Experience in yoga, meditation, journaling, or related practices (formal or informal)
  • Compassionate communication and ability to hold space
  • Confidence or willingness to guide small groups
