Volunteer Visitor – Prahran
JoCare is an inclusive, community-focused organisation that supports people in the Stonnington area who are experiencing social isolation. We are currently looking for a warm, reliable volunteer to visit a lovely older lady living in Prahran who would benefit from regular companionship and friendly conversation.
Some of our volunteers visit individuals in their homes, while others visit people in aged care facilities. In this case, we’re looking for someone available to visit in Prahran on a weekly or fortnightly basis in her home or out for coffee or a walk, with a commitment to building a long-term friendship.
All we ask is that you come with:
- An open heart
- A listening ear
- A willingness to connect with someone on a personal level
JoCare is auspiced by the Federal Government’s Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS), and additional philanthropic funding enables us to support community members who may fall outside ACVVS eligibility.
About the Role
- Time commitment: Weekly or fortnightly visits, long-term (12+ months preferred)
- Location: Prahran (metropolitan Melbourne residents only)
- Type: In-person visits
- No tasks or home duties involved – just friendship and presence and a friendly chat!
What We Offer
- Full volunteer training before you begin
- Ongoing support from our small, friendly team
- A meaningful way to contribute to your community
If you’re someone who enjoys chatting, building friendships, and making a real difference to someone’s life, we’d love to hear from you.
