The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of BASScare.

Join our vibrant Dementia Day Centre team in supporting our Men’s Club, a welcoming social group for men with early onset dementia. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our participants by fostering independence, engagement, and social connection. Friday fortnightly, 11.45am to 2.15pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve morning tea and lunch, including light preparation and cleanup
  • Support men to independently use activities available in the center
  • Encourage participation, engagement, and social interaction
  • Provide a friendly and respectful presence for members of the Men’s Club

Skills and Attributes:

  • Friendly, patient, and compassionate approach
  • Ability to support individuals with early onset dementia
  • Willingness to assist with light food preparation and cleanup
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
