URGENTLY SEEKING: Community Transport Drivers for older people (minibus or car)

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Balwyn Evergreen Centre.

Balwyn Evergreen Centre is a NFP offering programs and services to older people in and around Boroondara since 1958. We're a fun and welcoming community focused on ensuring our clients are happy, healthy and socially engaged.

Our transport service is critical for our clients to access our activities and programs. As a driver you get to be part of the action and make a genuine difference in the lives of older people who need your support.

If you're confident driving a minibus and happy to chat to our clients, please get in touch.

Available ongoing shifts driving our minibus:

• Tuesday's all-day seniors outing 9:30am-4:30pm (approx. one shift per month)
• Wednesday's shuttle to/from our centre 9:00am-4:00pm (or half day AM or PM shift)
• Friday's shuttle to/from our centre 9:00am-4:00pm (or half day AM or PM shift)

Casual back up shifts:

• Various casual back up shifts to cover our volunteers on leave (both Car and Minibus)

Skills and requirements:

• Valid Australian car driving licence. (Note: no special licence required to drive minibus)
• Confidence driving a 12-seater minibus or a car
• Ability to assist seniors on and off the bus (training provided)
• Must be patient and careful while driving
