City of Boroondara - Active Ageing
Do you live near Rowell Avenue in Camberwell? Or near Victory blvd & Warrigal road Ashburton? We are also looking for someone near Northcote Ave Balwyn. We have a senior resident in these locations waiting to be matched with a volunteer. We know that bin day can be a challenge for some seniors. Many need just a small helping hand. This new program will pair volunteers who live nearby and will help an older neighbour move their bins each week. A simple thing that can have a big impact!

Invite and escort residents from their rooms (wheelchair support if needed), interact warmly with residents including those with sensory or communication challenges, and help high‑needs residents with simple craft activities led by an instructor.

Support older people in your community by volunteering as a driver for Doncare’s organised lunch outings. For many older people experiencing isolation, regular social connection can make a profound difference, boosting wellbeing, reducing loneliness, and bringing joy and purpose to their week. Use a Doncare vehicle or your own (with mileage reimbursement), enjoy your lunch on us, and be part of a service that has supported Manningham for over 55 years. Training and ongoing support provided.
