Alamein Neighbourhood & Learning provides a range of services for the local community. The support provided by volunteers in this position assists Alamein to provide a friendly welcome to all visitors and attendees at the centre. The role is to greet visitors entering the centre, direct them to the correct room or staff member, make a tea or coffee for them and ensure the common area is a welcoming place.

We are seeking a compassionate, Greek-speaking volunteer to support clients in a welcoming community respite program at Elsie Salter House. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide reassurance, build meaningful connections, and help clients feel calm, included, and engaged. Working alongside experienced staff, you’ll make a real difference using your language skills and empathy. Wednesdays preferred.
BASSCARE
Support men living with dementia to stay socially connected and engaged in a welcoming, home‑style environment. As a Men’s Group Dementia Outing Volunteer, you’ll assist staff with social outings, offer friendly conversation and reassurance, and help create positive, meaningful experiences. This rewarding role is ideal for someone patient, empathetic, and keen to make a genuine difference. Lunch is provided.
Education CHANCES Foundation
The Education CHANCES Foundation has been offering merit based annual scholarships to well performing students who live or study in the City of Boroondara at a government secondary school or registered tertiary institute and come from a proven low-income background, since 2008. It is seeking the services of a volunteer Minute Secretary to assist our current Secretary/Treasurer in ensuring that all matters concerning Board meetings are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
